Mortgage Blog - Industry insights from lenderama: lenderama is looking for guest bloggers

I am a mortgage banker/broker from New Hampshire. My company, Regency Mortgage Corp. is licensed in NH, ME, MA, CT, RI and FL. We just started a blog and have been posting regularly. The address is www.regencymtg.com/blog . Please feel free to link to our blog. I am anxious to share my thoughts about the industry with like minded professionals. Our industry is essentially under attack by the media, and in some cases it is deserved. But, I have met many more good, honest, people in the mortgage industry over the years, than bad guys. We need to get the word out. We need to support some sort of national licensing and continuing education standards that will help restore our professional stature. If we don't act decisively and collectively, the politicians will have a hay day. Already there is talk about getting rid of YSP's. This, as we all know, would be a big mistake and would create an even more unlevel playing field between lenders and brokers than what already exists. I urge all in our industry who understand this issue to contact Sen. Chris Dodd, who chairs the Banking Committee in the U.S. Senate and educate him about YSP's. He's a good guy and wants to do the right thing. I believe if he has a full understanding of the benefit the YSP to the consumer, he will fight to preserve it.
Quentin Keefe, President
Regency Mortgage Corp.
